It took a bit longer before Ao3 finally revealed the fanfic side of things, so I held off on posting about everything I received until then. I could then see that I received these two stories, from [personal profile] disgruntled_owl and [personal profile] senmut.

A Reminder

Partially thanks to spotting this post at [community profile] fandom_stocking, I realized that I hadn’t mentioned my own stocking outside of a locked post. I believe it was probably back in early December.

So outside of that locked post, I’m saying that you can find my stocking over here. The reveal date for stockings is January 19th.
calliopes_pen: (liadtbunny Dracula Renfield cut)
This year, I received:

-Three Dracula (1931) icons from [personal profile] liadt
-Four Dracula novel quote icons from [personal profile] thisbluespirit (that second icon is pretty much poor Van Helsing’s motto in the story I wrote this last Yuletide).
-Ten book recs from [personal profile] rebecca_selene
-A Dark Shadows (60’s version) drabble from [personal profile] misbegotten.
-Professor Moriarty wishing me a Happy New Year, from [personal profile] trobadora.
-A wish of a Happy New Year from [personal profile] twinsarein.
-The best wishes for a fantastic year, from [personal profile] justshai
-An offer of one Mummy story at some point if I can come up with a prompt, from [personal profile] bring_me_sugar.

Thank you again to everyone that left something!

Fandom Stocking reveals have been pushed back to (presumably, for right now) Monday. If you would like to volunteer and help them to fill the stockings that have received either nothing or very little, here’s their post for that.

Last Call

Jan. 5th, 2018 04:08 pm
calliopes_pen: (lost_spook Mina covets the ring)
Unless it gets pushed back, I just glanced at the schedule. Fandom Stocking should be revealing things tomorrow. If that’s the case, then here’s one final link to my stocking before things are unscreened, if anyone would like to add anything.
calliopes_pen: (my bloody valentine Edith hat smile)
I just realized that I hadn’t linked to my entry over at Fandom Stocking since the 11th. So if anyone ever feels like putting anything in my stocking, it’s located over this way. I might link to it one final time before comments are unscreened for everyone in January.
calliopes_pen: (agatha_southeil Dracula illustration)
Over at Fandom Stocking, they are in the process of posting the entries for those that signed up. Should anyone wish to leave me anything, my stocking can be found here.

There isn't much when it comes to current fandoms for me, so (to no one’s surprise) I threw a bit of Dracula into the requested fandoms.
calliopes_pen: (lost_spook Dracula's brides)
I am truly beyond thrilled with all that I received for [community profile] fandom_stocking this year.

To sum up, I received:

-Two beautiful banners/book covers from [livejournal.com profile] lost_spook, for the Yuletide story I wrote for her, as well as two icons (and two others to share because they’re fantastic) for Dracula (1968). I’ll see if I can put the second banner in without wrecking anything on Ao3 once I figure out the coding and upload it elsewhere. I'm not sure about creating a third chapter over there just to show them off, but it's an option.

-17 Supergirl icons from [personal profile] medie, and 2 Supergirl related icons from [personal profile] tarlanx.
-3 Dark Shadows icons from [personal profile] liadt.
-A great Methos centered Highlander drabble from [personal profile] misbegotten.
-A book recommendation (which I’ll track down soon) from [personal profile] john_amend_all.
-A massive helping of book recommendations from [personal profile] rebecca_selene. I will be tracking down a large amount of them, if not all of them, in all likelihood.
-Links to Halloween focused stuff from [personal profile] valarltd
-Happy New Year from [profile] falcon_hours, [personal profile] bererjs and [personal profile] twinsarein.

I’m uploading as many icons as I can to Dreamwidth, and saving others so I can switch them out at another date if I want. To all that are on my circle/friends list and provided something, thank you again.

I’ll look through the collection further on Ao3 in a little while.
calliopes_pen: (taibhrigh puzzle to solve Doctor)
For those working on [community profile] fandom_stocking things, there’s been an extension—apparently, for either Saturday or Sunday for reveals this time. If anyone wants to volunteer to help them out further, their post for doing that is here.

Might as well also link to my own stocking for (hopefully) one final time while I’m doing this.
calliopes_pen: (chomiji Yuletide Kermit)
The reveal day for stockings over at [community profile] fandom_stocking should be January 6th, so I felt I should give one final post about it. (Things have been hectic, so I didn’t post about it other than when it was first posted, and likely won’t post about it again until reveals) So if anyone ever feels like putting anything in my stocking, it’s located over this way.

Also, last call for guessing what story I wrote for Yuletide. Reveals are tonight. I can do a drabble (at least) in that particular fandom, with a prompt of your choosing, if you guess correctly.
calliopes_pen: (sinister_morgue Gatekeeper Dana)
I’ve just realized that my [community profile] fandom_stocking entry has been posted. For those that might be interested in dropping something off in my stocking, you can find it via this link.

In Yuletide related news, my story’s been done for a while. Given the length, my beta and I are working as much as we can. I’ll more than likely upload the story tomorrow afternoon, and edit further as need be.
calliopes_pen: (kathyh Doctor nobody knows what he's see)
This year, I received the following in my Fandom Stocking:

-Seven Happy Holiday Wishes/Holiday Cards
-A double drabble involving Sleeping Beauty in the Doctor Who universe (which I love)
-Another drabble from Doctor Who (a rather lovely one).
-A Doctor Who icon, of angry Capaldi (which I love)
-Six icons of John Watson from Sherlock (a wonderful surprise)

So thank you to everyone on my friends list that left something for me! It was greatly appreciated.
calliopes_pen: (my bloody valentine Lucille Peeks)
Sign-ups for participating in [community profile] fandom_stocking are open until December 14th. Entries are gradually being posted as people sign up. For anyone that might be interested in adding anything, my stocking can be found hanging over here.
calliopes_pen: (vintageruby)
If anyone wishes to leave anything in it, my stocking is hung here. I couldn’t think of very many fandoms that I would want anything from this year, but it’s there.
calliopes_pen: (jkpolk mine evil laugh Master)
Due to wanting to expand a scene just a bit more with a particular moment, and rearranging something that happens, and then fiddling with something else, the word count (until beta reading begins tomorrow, so could be far more, could be a bit less after that) for my Yuletide fanfic is 18,409 words. I made a joke at some point that maybe it’ll hit 20,000 words. I’m hoping that doesn’t come to pass, if only for the sake of anyone that may volunteer to be the second beta reader.

Also, for everyone that’s interested: fandom_stocking is now open for sign-ups.
calliopes_pen: (sallymn Xena life before coffee)
For anyone interested, my Fandom Stocking is hanging here. I forgot to mention this more than once during the course of the month.

Meanwhile, I’ve decided that once the authors are revealed for Yuletide, I will do a separate post about the process for the long story I wrote. It’s already written up. I suspect the story itself is too long for LJ, but it might not be too long for Dreamwidth. I’ll figure that out later.

I considered having people guess which story was mine, since that meme's going around again this year--but it would be too easy, given that I've mentioned both the length before, as well as (while searching for a beta, possibly in a locked entry) the fandom in earlier posts. There are too few stories in the fandom in question this year, meaning it would be relatively easy to guess. So I'll sit that out.
calliopes_pen: (shawnkyr Doc and Clara)
My stocking for fandom_stocking has been hung, and can be found here. There was a tiny error in it, and they accidentally have someone else’s name in the first line--just ignore that. It’s completely understandable, given the number of people signing up.
calliopes_pen: (sallymn Brigadier raining)
David R. Ellis has passed away unexpectedly, at the age of 60. He had been at work on his next film, Kite. May he rest in peace. He was a director who worked on Snakes On A Plane, Final Destination 2, and many others. He was also stunt coordinator for The Addams Family, Star Trek V: The Final Frontier, Ghost Dad, Warlock (1989), Phantom of the Mall: Eric’s Revenge, The Beastmaster, and many other tv shows and movies.

As a passing note as to how cluttered Nellie’s house was? Her daughter hired a cleaning crew. They’ve brought the back of a semi truck to cart things off, with extra dumpsters. They’ve been working almost non-stop (they took a break on Sunday afternoon) since Friday. They’ve hauled that thing away six times to the dump and back, and they’ve only made it into the living room. They get here at 7 AM every morning, and they don’t stop until 6 PM.

On the snow/ice storm front: Tuesday night/Wednesday morning, we’re expected to get anywhere up to a foot of snow. Could be more than 12 inches, could be less, but if it’s heavy and wet anywhere they’re already warning that there could be power outages. Sleet is also expected as it turns into a blizzard. Mom and I are gathering coats and blankets just in case the power goes out. We have so much bread and regular food, we have water, we have blankets and warm clothing, we…have discovered that the gas heater we obtained was installed incorrectly and therefore cannot be turned on. It would wreck the wall to remove it, so there it will stay. It also has a bit of fine print against the wall stating not to use it if there’s anyone anemic in the house or planning to be in the house. We are trying to find the little propane heaters Dad bought after the ice storm years back.

(If anyone wonders, yes, he will be stranded at the hospital for the duration.)

Oh, and they’ve named it Winter Storm Euclid. So we can blame the Father of Geometry.
