RIP, Leslie Nielson

Leslie Nielson has passed away at the age of 84. He was in the hospital, being treated for pneumonia and passed away from complications. May he rest in peace. That was the first time I ever saw anything with him in it, given that I’ve never been interested in watching The Naked Gun or its sequels. Those that watched The Golden Girls might remember him from the final couple of episodes, when he married Dorothy. Around the time I was in middle school, I loved him in both Repossessed and Dracula: Dead And Loving It. Tonight, I’ll watch the latter in his honor.

Here he is on Due South. I’ve never seen the show before, but that scene makes me interested in watching.

I leave you with Nielson as Dracula, trying to get the last word. And the moment when Dracula was having a daymare. Sit through the end credits of the movie, and over the production company logo you’ll hear him say one last thing and laugh.

This year, I have completed, had it beta read twice, edited the problems, and uploaded my Yuletide story before December 1st. This amazes me. So now, if any pinch hitting request goes out in a fandom I’m familiar with, I’ll probably be doing that, too. Provided it isn’t too close to the due date.

In the process of uploading, there was one strange moment where the archive decided to add italic tags in front of every single paragraph. I went back in and edited them out, so it looks fine now. So if anyone goes to upload, be sure to keep an eye out for that.

Irvin Kershner passed away at the age of 87, following a long illness. He was perhaps best known as the director of The Empire Strikes Back, as well as The Eyes Of Laura Mars. May he rest in peace.

And then a few minutes ago, I heard that Mario Monicelli passed away at the age of 95. He was an Italian director and screenwriter. He was diagnosed with prostate cancer, and committed suicide a few days after being admitted to the hospital, by jumping from a fifth story window. May he rest in peace.
