I went back into my Yuletide sign-up a little while ago, and in the Bucket List tacked on Clue (1985). I debated whether or not to throw in Snow White And The Huntsman since we’ve only got a trailer and nothing else until 2012, before deciding to add it. As a reminder for anyone planning to sign-up, Yuletide sign-ups close Sunday, at 7 PM CST. I predict at least one more bout of editing for me before they close, since that’s how things go.

The trailer for the Christmas episode of Doctor Who was released—the title is The Doctor, The Widow, and the Wardrobe. Matt Smith appears as the Doctor on Children In Need, offers the clothes he’s wearing at that moment to charity.

In addition to the other comics previously mentioned, Marvel is also canceling Daken: Dark Wolverine.

Diablo Cody discusses the Evil Dead reboot.

A sneak peek of season 2 of Syfy’s Being Human.

December is Small Fandom Month at [livejournal.com profile] crack_van.

[livejournal.com profile] shan_3414 is hosting a multifandom gifting meme, called the 2011 Stocking Swap.

Joss Whedon talks about making the Avengers in an interview with Yahoo Movies. [livejournal.com profile] whedonesque discusses it here.

Deadpool pencil holder. Comes equipped with a ninja star embedded in his severed head.

What Culture lists 8 Actors Who Could Play The Doctor In A Film Reboot.

Mark Hall has passed away, at the age of 74, due to cancer. May he rest in peace. He was the co-creator of Danger Mouse and Count Duckula. His studio also produced Scream of the Shalka, and animated the missing first and fourth episodes of the Doctor Who serial The Invasion, for a DVD release.

From Cracked: 5 Batman Villains Too Lame To Survive A Single Issue.

Svengoolie shows Frankenstein Meets The Wolf Man tonight.

A sixth performer performer was injured during Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark.

Fans of the late All My Children may not be getting a web series after all, as plans have been put on hold thanks to a lack of funding.

Russell Tovey is leaving Being Human.

The trailer for Snow White And The Huntsmen. If Kristen Stewart weren’t in this movie, I would actually want to watch. [profile] whedonesque discusses it here.

Yuletide nominations are open! The locked-in nominations. Someone else nominated Back to the Future, and two characters from Fright Night (1985). I nominated My Best Friend Is A Vampire, The Librarian movies, and Fright Night (1985), so I could include Peter Vincent and Charley Brewster. If anyone hasn’t nominated their fandoms yet, please consider adding Ghostbusters or either incarnation of Dark Shadows. (I was so close to going through with nominating Mr. Boogedy)

[livejournal.com profile] wish_list is open for business. I’ll try to come up with something later.

American Horror Story was renewed for a second season. [livejournal.com profile] whedonesque discusses it here.

10 Great Horror Comics, From the Golden Age To Now.

From Tor: 10 Reasons Why Ghostbusters Has Such An Enduring Legacy.

New pictures from the set of The Hobbit, along with a full set report.

A couple of people chose to celebrate their Halloween as Ghostbusters characters: Vinz Clortho the Keymaster, and Zuul the Gatekeeper. Very nice.

Top 31 Horror Comedies. I would add High Spirits, but that’s really more of a personal preference. Plus, Big Trouble In Little China, and Saturday the 14th.

Jezebel lists The Best Halloween Specials Ever. Including the Garfield Halloween Special, Halloween Is Grinch Night, Marc Summers’ Magical Mystery Tour, The Worst Witch, that episode of Salute Your Shorts with Zeke The Plumber, Buffy’s Fear Itself, and many others.

In the end, we had a grand total of 9 trick-or-treaters last night, with the final three popping in around 7:30 PM. They forgot to wear costumes. So the only costumes I spotted last night were a little boy that was Satan, and a little girl that was a Crayola crayon.

Books-a-Million is following the lead of Barnes and Noble, and removing graphic novels from the shelves. Since they’re the only bookstore (no comic stores, aside from the short-lived one in a tattoo parlor, I do believe—and an old one that smells of smoke, mildew, and pot on all their merchandise) around here, I’m understandably not pleased. If I have to get something that they no longer carry, I’ll go to Amazon.

Syfy has renewed Haven for a third season.

Ringer gets a full season order. [livejournal.com profile] whedonesque discusses it here.

New posters for Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows.

New York Comic Con preview for Saturday’s activities.

Complex has their list of The 50 Scariest TV Shows Of All Time. Buffy, Dark Shadows, Eerie Indiana, and Are You Afraid of the Dark are a few of the ones that made the list. Some I disagree with, some I’ve never heard of—like Dead At 21—but it’s interesting.

In other news, from now on when I go outside I’ll probably have to remember to change into long pants and long sleeves or a jacket, even if it’s warm. I’m a mosquito magnet, no matter what I try. Two days ago, I went to check Toby, and came back with two or three mosquito bites. I’m fine. Elsewhere—either this county or barely one over, however, same time I was out, a guy was mowing. Also bitten by a mosquito. Suddenly developed a fever, and a few other problems. End of the day, he’s dead of West Nile Virus. His is a rare case, since the cases that went around in 2009 didn't kill anyone. Still, I'm not taking any chances.

Why Space Cases deserves more love.

The Anon Or Not Love Meme.

The list of people joining Dancing With The Stars was announced last night. They are: Ron Artest, Kristen Cavallari, Chynna Phillips, David Arquette, Carson Kressley, Nancy Grace, Robert Kardashian, Elisabetta Canalis, Chaz Bono, Hope Solo, and J.R. Martinez. I cannot stand Nancy Grace or the Kardashians, so I doubt I’ll be watching this season.
