Over at [community profile] dark_fest, [personal profile] omorka wrote Touching The Light. It’s in the Ghostbusters fandom—the prompt I gave was "Ghostbusters, Zuul decided Peter was a better (strategy-wise, anyway) host, during the battle in the first movie. Things get worse from there." If you want a dark story where things get oh, so much worse for everyone starting with things being different when Zuul tries to seduce Peter, then I highly recommend this one. I loved it. Walter Peck gets a larger role in events than just opening the containment unit and trying to get them arrested, and that’s all I’m saying, since I don’t want to spoil anything.

A casting spoiler for The Sarah Jane Adventures.

A couple of clips from the next episode of Doctor Who.

Over at [community profile] ontdcreepy, they have a weekly post for creepy things that have happened to people over the years. Here’s just a taste of the weirdness that happened to me in the hospital, back in 2008. Accidentally left out the time the fire alarm went off three times, because someone had a coffee maker that kept literally going up in flames. That’s not supernatural, though, that’s just rotten luck.

Last night, I had a choice—watch Dancing With The Stars and their weird little Movie Night theme, or watch Top Gear, as they struggled to survive the rain forests and everything else across South America. I chose Top Gear, and I’m pretty sure I made the right choice. Even if only for Hammond’s bug-related freakout as they traveled through the rain forest, and Clarkson sinking in the mud. Part 1 of that special is here.

Here’s a funny little spoof: the BBC apologizes for going a single hour without mentioning David Tennant or Doctor Who.

The Worst Moments From 2009’s Science Fiction and Fantasy. I disagree with the Doctor Who one—slightly. I thought the one for Torchwood was a good cheesy moment.

From FearNet: 4 Reasons To Get Excited For Burton and Depp’s Dark Shadows.

From Cracked: 13 Overlooked Deaths of 2009.

Power Rangers ended after 17 years and 700 episodes, it would seem. I watched that show in middle school, and the very beginning of high school. Going by Wikipedia, I probably quit watching shortly after they turned into ninjas. So around the time of the first movie, I guess? I remember Billy heading for a planet made of water.

I have to recommend this great Doctor Who fanfic I just read. It’s set after Waters of Mars, and the title pretty much says it all. How the Doctor Ended the World by Changing the Fixed Point in Time that is Firefly’s Cancellation.

This might be old, but I hadn’t seen it before. Tom Wilson (aka Biff) answers questions he’s frequently asked about Back to the Future—via song.

My auction post for the vampire bit of the Support Stacie Auction is located here. The auction doesn’t start until January 15th—I’ll post a reminder of this, and probably a mention of anything that was left out, closer to the date.

I received two fanfics in Yuletide.

First, the main one I got was for The Mummy. I loved it, and you captured Evie’s character perfectly, along with the repercussions of what happened in The Mummy Returns. Whoever it was, you did a fantastic job. Something In The Shadow.

And someone out there saw my Ghostbusters prompt where I requested a story where Peter was possessed by a minion of Gozer, and wrote an extra story for me with it. Whoever it was, a huge thank you, since it’s exactly what I wanted in that fandom. You captured the characters brilliantly. I loved it, and I’ll comment on this one and the other one when the server isn’t under so much strain. Hidden Deep Inside.

Just a reminder: The End of Time Part 1 airs tomorrow on BBC America, since we get it the day after the UK gets it. I’ll still try to watch it before that, though.

Thankfully, no snow--not even a dusting. So both the local and national news was wrong.

First, the fandom meme:

1) Post a list of up to 20 books/movies/anime/TV shows/video games/bands [fannish etc.] that you've had an obsessive fannish love or interest in at some time in your life.
2) Have your f-list guess your favourite character/member from each item.
3) When someone guesses correctly, strikethrough the item and put the name of your favorite character next to it.

1. Doctor Who
2. Torchwood
3. Ghostbusters
4. Dark Shadows
5. Firefly
6. Buffy the Vampire Slayer
7. Angel
8. Highlander: The Series
9. Merlin
10. Veronica Mars
11. Castle
12. Being Human
13. Eureka
14. Hercules the Legendary Journeys
15. Xena: Warrior Princess
16. Monk
17. Psych
18. National Treasure
19. The Mummy (the three movies)
20. The Addams Family

I have to recommend a Merlin fanfic I just discovered, that is utterly hysterical. Zombies, Like Ninjas, Make Everything Better, written by [personal profile] netgirl_y2k. Zombies attack Camelot. Merlin isn’t allowed to carry a sword, and instead carries a ladle and wooden spoon, with a pot over his head at one point.

From Cracked: 6 Popular Monster Myths (That Prove Humanity Is Doomed). And The 6 Creepiest Places on Earth.

For those interested, the mods of [community profile] yuletide have decided that Babylon 5 and Crusade are eligible after all. I only watched a few episodes of the former on the Sci-Fi Channel a couple years ago, so I won’t be signing up for either one. The US version of Life on Mars is also now on the eligible list, while the UK version is not.

The 10 Greatest Time Travel Movies Of All Time.

The 10 Most Insane, Child-Warping Moments of 80’s Cartoons. At first, I thought the episode of My Little Pony they mentioned was a four-part episode called The Return of Tambelon--but no, that was another multi-part episode.

As today is Talk Like A Pirate Day, I’m linking everyone to Gallifreyan Buccaneer. And here’s David Tennant talking like a pirate.

I recently ran across a story by [personal profile] sam_storyteller that is so utterly hysterical that I must recommend it. This is the one and only time I am ever likely to go near RPF, but it’s worth it. On The Run From The Lunar Mafia. The summary: “Gareth David-Lloyd's quiet evening is interrupted by time travel. And robots.”

As an update on the cat—her breathing, at least, seems to be better than it was. She’s feeling better--at least going by the fact that she wants to slaughter Mom again. She was extra clingy with Dad when she wasn’t feeling good—this morning, she’s apparently decided that (because he’s giving her medicine) she will take him down. Her eyes turn black (they’re normally sky blue) when she’s thinking of doing that. When she turns to me, they’re blue again. Checked with Toby, and he’s calm and content, so he obviously senses when she’s feeling okay.

And Mom told me to tell everyone just how spoiled the cat is. Every night, before the cat goes out for the night, Dad goes into the garage with a fly swatter. Mom finally asked why. He says he’s killing any bugs or flies out there, so they won’t disturb her sleep. Now that’s spoiled. She also has her own fan out there, as well as a night light. And a tiny bed. And her litter box basically has a curtain around it for privacy on all sides, going by those towels.

And now, a meme, taken from [personal profile] schmevil:

Ask me any question about any of my stories/'verses/Au's, whether past or future or unwritten scenes and I will answer. This even includes the future of some verses that may potentially be spoilery. If you're really nice, I'll give you a snippet.

Mainly curious if there are any stories of mine that left anyone with a question or two.

First of all, I have to recommend this fanfic. Set during The Impossible Planet/The Satan Pit, it’s not Toby that gets possessed by The Beast. It’s Rose. From there, it’s a wonderfully written story of how the Doctor tries to save her—and the battle within, as well. Battle (Cast Out the Shadows Mix)—written by [personal profile] rynne.

Another movie is getting a remake—this time, it’s The Secret of NIMH. It will be in the style of that CGI Alvin and the Chipmunks movie.

How television can be considered a best friend. It took a scientific study for them to realize that people can get really attached to certain characters. And going by the comments, looks like quite a few people had their sanity saved by TNG back in middle or high school.

BBC America will air future episodes of Doctor Who faster from now on, and uncut. At least on the premiere airing.

This post at [community profile] barrowmanfans has footage of the Torchwood panel at Comic Con.

And now, a meme: the “You Should Write…” Meme. My thread is here.

Just ignore this. It's just my way of trying to remember what author's I should look up through Fanfiction.net, Offpanel, and Livejournal, so I can find the stories I need again.

I'll probably add to this later, as I think of more.

Cut off here--longer than I thought it would be. )

This list got so long, that I ended up needing an LJ cut--just to spare my Friends List. And I'll be adding more later, too.

If anyone can think of anything to add to this, just let me know. Since Dad reformatted the computer, I more than likely lost all the stories I had saved. Although, if they were posted on LJ, I might have them saved in my LJ Memories section.

I was searching through [profile] titans_together for fanfic, and found the most hysterical story. While it is mpreg, it is an extremely creative and funny story.

Title: Mpreurgh
Authors: [profile] notpoetry and [personal profile] derryderrydown
Rating: It isn't rated, but I would assume a PG-13 at the most.
Warnings: It's Tim/Bart (Robin III and Impulse), but there wasn't anything graphic.
Summary (from the page itself): "Remember when Bart and I got thrown into that alternate dimension by that super-villain's ray? And the effects weren't reversed for almost two days? We got bored."

Now, for the fic recommendation request. Does anyone know of any good Batman stories where Batman either gets amnesia, regresses to a child, or both?

I am wondering because of a comic I recently read. I have posted the scans at scans_daily, in this entry.

This is a great story. It crosses over with Ghostbusters, and it is just wonderful. I can't really describe it without spoiling everything. I found it at 4 separate sites, so I'll just list all of them. Just in case any of them are ever offline somehow.
