A very short teaser for the American remake of Being Human.

The 10 Most Stylish Means Of Time Travel. Doctor Who (in two spots) and Back to the Future (also with two spots) are listed.

It’s official—Heroes is completely dead, and not mostly dead. There will not be a tv movie.

James Cameron is trying to get True Lies turned into a tv series.

The people behind The Wicker Man (the one with Christopher Lee—not the one with Nicholas Cage in a bear suit, punching a woman in the face before eventually being attacked by bees) are working on a sequel: The Wicker Tree.

Heroes will not be renewed. It’s officialit’s been cancelled. It’s good news, since the show had gone so far downhill since season 1. Thanks to a comment over at Io9—in the article Great Moments In Alternate History: The Time Travelers Show Up—I just found this. Terminator: How It Should End. It crosses over with Back to the Future--if they actually made this movie, then I would go see it. The people that made that trailer did a fantastic job.

Io9 discusses movies (and a few tv shows) where someone being recast might have changed things. Riff Regan as Willow in the original Buffy pilot, Rebecca Gayheart as Inara, and Eric Stoltz as Marty in Back to the Future all get a mention. One I never knew about, however, was that Stuart Townsend was almost Aragorn. Judging by the picture, I don’t think he would have worked.

Batman is getting a live stage show. Reportedly, it won’t be a musical.

From Cracked: The 5 Worst Deaths Written For Great Characters (And Why).

Rumor has it Heroes will be renewed. However, the season will be cut down to 13 episodes, supposedly ending after that.

Livejournal is apparently doing something to links via a java script. An explanation of everything is in the link, along with the solution on how to quickly fix that via the LJ Admin Console.

Top 10 Vampire Deaths

Bryan Fuller has left Heroes again.

As of yesterday, it’s been 20 years since the Tim Burton version of Batman was released.

[personal profile] elisi posted a couple pages from a comic that shows what would happen if Lisa Simpson were a vampire slayer. Basically, going to the library for research means you start looking for more, while everyone and everything around you dies. I would probably do that, too.

No matter what happens with the third Ghostbusters movie, it looks like there’s not much of a chance for Sigourney Weaver to be involved in it.

There’s going to be another Ninja Turtles movie, with a tentative release date of 2011. Proof you’re now old? It’s their 25th anniversary.

NBC cut back on the number of episodes for season 4 of Heroes. This means that it goes from 25 episodes, down to 18-20.

In Doctor Who related news, I’ve been hearing that a certain villain from the older series has been cast. However, as these spoilers seem have tabloids as their sources, I won’t believe them until it actually happens. If anyone wants to read a potential spoiler (which is probably not true) you can go to this Io9 article.

Found via [profile] whedonesque: An interview with Felicia Day.

For those that use Geocities for hosting fanfic or anything else, it turns out they will be shutting down all accounts (both free and paid) at the end of 2009. Found out via various links on my friends list. I’ve never used Geocities, but I know some people might have.

By the way, does anyone on my friends list know how to download a movie from Youtube, and then piece it back together so they can watch it later without having to keep stopping to look for the next part? If anyone needs to know the movie, it’s Pinocchio and the Emperor of the Night, and part 1 is here. Just curious, since I’ve never found it anywhere else. Or, if that's not possible, if anyone knows where I can find a torrent or download of it.

Looks like USA is showing Serenity today, for anyone out there that’s interested. It started at 1:30 PM CST.

The best thing I’ve seen on April Fool’s Day so far? Fox Cancels Joss Whedon. That is the best one I've stumbled across, as of this moment.

And now, a couple of items that aren't an April Fool's Joke. First? The Anita Blake books are being adapted into a tv movie. Possibly a series of tv movies, going by what I heard elsewhere. That can’t end well...

Bryan Fuller agreed that Heroes needed to be fixed, and almost wasn’t sure if it was even possible.

Which (since Fuller made the show) reminds me--I need to try to give Pushing Daisies another shot, by downloading an episode or two.

Alan Tudyk joins the cast of V.

Looks like Donna making a pie is currently in first place in the prompt poll, with Martha as an Immortal in a close second--and Jack in a monastery in a close third. People have until the weekend to vote if they haven’t already.

There might be a Riverworld series in the works for The Sci-Fi Channel (once they change their name). Didn’t they already do a tv movie a few years back, starring the late Kevin Smith? (The one from Hercules and Xena, not the comic writer) And, randomly, the person doing the Io9 article posted a screencap of Whoopi Goldberg as The Cheshire Cat. Which, judging by the comments, triggered memories of this version of Alice in Wonderland.

26 Great TV Shows That Got A Quick Hook. A lot of these I have either never heard of before, or have heard of, but never seen. A good example of the latter would be My So-Called Life and Wonderfalls. Good news is that Firefly gets a mention.

Dancing With The Stars News

Heroes will get a fourth season. However, the season will be slightly shorter, with 18-20 episodes, rather than the usual number of around 23. NBC also wants them to have a set ending.

And for those interested in Dancing With The Stars, it seems that the infamous Heather Mills Curse has struck again. First, for those that hadn’t heard, Jewel was forced to withdraw from the show due to fractured tibas in both legs. Her replacement was (to my everlasting horror) announced to be Holly Madison. And now, I’ve heard that Nancy O’Dell is withdrawing due to tearing something in her knee. I don’t know who will be replacing her yet.

Someone really needs to do an exorcism of that studio, or something.

ETA: Okay, this is getting insane. Now another contestant on Dancing With The Stars has been struck down. This time, it's Gilles Marini, due to being diagnosed with tendonitis in his left shoulder and groin area. He thinks he might be able to dance despite the pain, but it doesn't sound good. I wonder if there will be any survivors by the time the show actually premieres?

Chuck and Heroes will be going on hiatus for the entirety of January, so that a new reality show can be aired. I don’t watch either (never watched Chuck, and dropped Heroes this season) show, but I know that some on my friends list do.
