Neil Simon has passed away at the age of 91, as a result of complications from pneumonia. May he rest in peace. He wrote Murder By Death (1976), which I will always love. Someday, I need to watch The Cheap Detective (1978).

I thought I had a Murder By Death icon. I see I was mistaken. So instead of that, I'll use what could look like a mourning Sherlock Holmes. The character has a cameo in that movie in a deleted scene.

I am currently going back and forth on whether or not I want to keep my nomination for Bride of Boogedy, or switch to something else, as few have likely seen it, even when it comes obscure fandoms in Yuletide. Over in this comment, anyone curious about it can find a link to the film, as well as the one that preceded it. Over here, you can see the 30 second promo that FearNet made for the night the movies aired for Halloween.

Which Should I Switch My Nomination To?

With Suspiria, it would turn my nominations into a nice little horror trifecta, as the other two were Dark Shadows (1991) and Fright Night (1985). On the other hand, I also love Murder By Death (1976), too.

Given the fact that those on LJ can’t vote in this Dreamwidth poll, simply write in what you wish to vote for in the comments over there.

My plan was to nominate Ghostbusters, Legend, and Bewitched when the Yuletide nominations begin on Monday. However, I just rewatched Murder By Death (1976) and would love to see that included, too. Is there anyone on my friends list who doesn't have their three fandoms picked, and would be willing to throw that one in? Given how often Bewitched is on courtesy of Me-TV, Antenna TV, and Family Net at various points (which makes it easier to check up on something should I end up getting that fandom for an assignment) in the series throughout the day, I'd rather not switch it out.

Eileen Brennan has passed away, at the age of 80, following a long battle with bladder cancer. May she rest in peace. I loved her in Clue and Murder By Death. I’ve never seen The Cheap Detective, so I’ll have to track that one down someday.

Reading through her IMDB page, I see that she was also in the 1995 remake of Freaky Friday, as well as The New Adventures of Pippi Longstocking.

For those interested, I found the original Michael Eisner intro for Mr. Boogedy, over on Youtube. I remembered him floating away after putting on the cape, but that was the intro for Bride of Boogedy.
