Brad Bufanda has passed away at the age of 34, after committing suicide. May he rest in peace. I had no idea who he was, until Bleeding Cool mentioned he played Felix Toombs on Veronica Mars. The name was vaguely familiar; after consulting the Veronica Mars Wiki, I remembered him. It was Felix that was stabbed, and Logan was framed for it.

He was apparently on Days of Our Lives as someone named Joe for five episodes, back in 2002. If I had a last name for the character he played or what storyline he was involved in for those few episodes, that might help. Otherwise, I don’t remember the character.

ETA: After digging through articles, I eventually found out via Soap Opera Spy that he played a gang member that threatened Rex and Cassie when they first arrived in Salem. I remember that, and the weirdness of their arrival, but not him specifically.

Malachi Throne has passed away at the age of 84. May he rest in peace. Star Trek fans will remember him as Commodore Mendez in the TOS episode The Menagerie, as well as the leader of the Talosians in The Cage, and was Senator Pardek in the Star Trek: TNG two-parter Unification. He played False Face in the Adam West Batman series—I recently managed to catch an episode with him, courtesy of ME-TV. He was the narrator for the original 1977 trailer for Star Wars. A quick check of IMDB, tells me he was also the narrator of the cartoon Visionaries: Knights of the Magic Light.

Veronica Mars will begin airing on SoapNet on Saturday, April 7th.

ETA: Disney Junior launches today; Soapnet to continue on some carriers. So in light of that tidbit, it all depends on where you live, whether or not you get to watch Veronica Mars.

The AV Club gives an overview of all of Doctor Who.

25 Flashback Episodes You Love. Buffy and Firefly are on the list. [profile] whedonesque lists the Buffy (and other shows, like Veronica Mars and DS9) episodes that should have made the cut.

The 10 Creepiest Ventriloquist Tales of All Time. I remember Making Contact—I almost rented it when I was little, and from what I’ve heard since then, it’s good that I didn’t. Since I (and Mom) have a slight phobia towards ventriloquist dummies. I’m surprised they didn’t list Slappy from Night of the Living Dummy—and a couple of other Goosebumps episodes, I believe. And they didn’t list the dummy that wasn’t really evil from Buffy.

In relation to the Support Stacie Auction: Since bidding has been paid for, you’re getting whatever fanfic you desire, [personal profile] wiggiemomsi. You can send me your prompt via PM, (unless you’ve already done so and LJ just ate it in the downtime) e-mail, or in a comment. Anything I mentioned I was willing to write, including that special offer I made toward the end of the auction, of a timestamp to any Doctor Who related story I’ve written if you so wish.

I’ll also get started on the three drabbles I owe people tomorrow.

Great news, everyone. Veronica Mars has been renewed! Information about the renewal can be found here and here.

Now, if CW airs on a station that Comcast allows us to have, I will be very happy.

Anyone have news on whether or not Smallville has been picked up yet?

Okay, I just finished watching the first episode of Veronica Mars. Love it. I have a few questions, which I'll put behind the cut.

I'm considering giving Veronica Mars a shot. I have a few questions before I watch it. So far, the only thing I know is that the show is a mystery. (And that Joss Whedon will guest star very soon.)

1. Are there any places on LJ that explain what has happened up to this point?

2. Is it worth watching? Or is it just a lot of teen angst?

3. What week does Joss Whedon guest-star? Is it this week? (And does it normally air on Thursdays?)

Those are all the questions I can think of for now.
