Tony Scott has passed away, at the age of 68, following him jumping from a bridge. It looks like he had recently been diagnosed with inoperable brain cancer. Condolences to his family, and may he rest in peace. He co-produced Prometheus, and helped make films such as The Hunger, Days of Thunder, and many others. He produced the forthcoming miniseries Coma, along with working on the tv series Numb3rs. David Krumholtz posts his remembrance of the man.

William Windom has passed away, at the age of 88, due to congestive heart failure. May he rest in peace. Star Trek fans will remember him from The Doomsday Machine as Commodore Matt Decker.

I just don’t cross-post all that often, save when LJ’s down. When it comes to LJ’s alterations, the larger font style will take some getting used to. I rarely used subject lines in comments, outside of Yuletide, certain memes, and the occasional auction. I can see the icon selection bit being a problem for those on dial-up. The part where you can make everything go to unthreaded at the same time is good. I like the bit where it tells what comments are new since you last visited.

I went back into my Yuletide sign-up a little while ago, and in the Bucket List tacked on Clue (1985). I debated whether or not to throw in Snow White And The Huntsman since we’ve only got a trailer and nothing else until 2012, before deciding to add it. As a reminder for anyone planning to sign-up, Yuletide sign-ups close Sunday, at 7 PM CST. I predict at least one more bout of editing for me before they close, since that’s how things go.

Jezebel lists The Best Halloween Specials Ever. Including the Garfield Halloween Special, Halloween Is Grinch Night, Marc Summers’ Magical Mystery Tour, The Worst Witch, that episode of Salute Your Shorts with Zeke The Plumber, Buffy’s Fear Itself, and many others.

In the end, we had a grand total of 9 trick-or-treaters last night, with the final three popping in around 7:30 PM. They forgot to wear costumes. So the only costumes I spotted last night were a little boy that was Satan, and a little girl that was a Crayola crayon.

LJ claims the security hole was just a cache issue that lasted a few minutes, contrary to what everyone else has experienced. In an odd moment of madness and a desperate need for tokens—after reading the dw_news post about it, I entered their Halloween sweepstakes for 10,000 tokens. I know I’ll never win, but hey. Why not?

Cry Baby Lane—the movie that disappeared for a decade because Nickelodeon deemed it too scary, until a Reddit user unearthed it—will air in Teen Nick’s The 90’s Are All That block. This will mark the second (and third) time it has been seen in 11 years. 11 PM CST, Halloween night, I’ve got to tape this one. It airs from 11 PM, to 12:30 AM, and then they show it once more from 1 AM, to 2:30 AM.
