NBC will not be picking up David E. Kelly’s version of Wonder Woman.

ABC has cancelled V and No Ordinary Family. [profile] whedonesque discusses it here.

Starz released a short teaser for Torchwood.

The Silence wander through the streets of London.

Teen Nick will be airing Buffy.

Without spoiling anything, I’ll just say that I loved last night’s episode of Doctor Who. Neil Gaiman did a spectacular job. Even if the download I grabbed made Amy suddenly look like a blonde, and certain moments in certain locations so dark that you couldn’t see exactly where they were. Managed to see everything clearly thanks to the BBC America airing--had I missed that, I would have simply headed for another download.

And lastly, a meme, taken from [personal profile] wanderlustlover:

Comment and I will comment back with a picture of the fictional character that most reminds me of you. Then post the same in your journal.

Name a character you think I ought to play and I'll talk to you about why I would or wouldn't.

More Dark Shadows news as Helena Bonham Carter is reported to be the favorite to portray…Dr. Julia Hoffman. I had been expecting Tim Burton to put her somewhere, so I’m not all that surprised. Personally, I would have liked them to bring back Barbara Steele.

A strange superhero spoof of all those internet dating ads: SuperHarmony.

The Robert Downey Jr. Sherlock Holmes sequel has a title—A Game of Shadows.

Someone in Brooklyn built Castle Greyskull out of all the snow that was dumped on them. It took two days to build, using only a Korean soup bowl and spoon.

The Science Channel will begin airing Firefly in March. [profile] whedonesque discusses it here.

Borders officially filed for bankruptcy protection today. Were it not for the fact that we lost our only Borders store a couple years ago, I would be off to buy what I could from them while I still had the chance.

Remembering the recently departed Joanne Siegel. May she rest in peace.

Anyone having trouble with Io9’s new layout, just try to ignore the bar on the right side. I would have added Willow, Oz, and Tara, along with several others.

Sir Christopher Lee will receive the BAFTA Academy Fellowship.

Brian Jacques has passed away, at the age of 71, following a heart attack. May he rest in peace. He was most famous for the series of Redwall novels he wrote. Which, strangely, I hadn't actually heard of before today.

Some details of the Wonder Woman pilot have been leaked. So she’s now the CEO of a company, pining for Steve Trevor “like Carrie for Mr. Big,” singing show tunes along with the radio, being goofy, wacky and awkward? Um, no. Like I said before I even knew this bit, I think I’ll sit this one out. Please, please don't let a dancing baby ever pop up on this show.

The Cape has been cut back from an episode order of 13 episodes, to 10 episodes, due to low ratings. [profile] whedonesque discusses it here.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt is in talks to join The Dark Knight Rises. No word on what character he would end up playing.

SFX has Before They Were Famous. There’s Ryan Gosling in Young Hercules, Heath Ledger in Roar, Amy Adams in Smallville, Carey Mulligan and Andrew Garfield in Doctor Who, and others.

Peter Jackson has left the hospital, and will continue his recovery at home.

Casting has begun for the Dark Shadows movie. Reportedly, Bella Heathcote is in talks to play Victoria Winters, while Jackie Earle Healey could be playing Willie Loomis. Victoria is now a waitress, rather than a governess.

Spider-Man is going to have mechanical webshooters, rather than organic ones this time around.

The newest trailer for Being Human, season 3.

Previously unreleased footage of the late Andy Hallett attending Slayerfest back in 2005 has been made available. [profile] whedonesque discusses it here. May he continue to rest in peace.

After 28 years on the air, Regis Philbin is ready to retire. I’ve been watching his show since I was 7—so 22 years for me. I never thought he would retire. I honestly expected him to die on the set, or during a show first. If they manage to replace him, the only ones I can see working are Anderson Cooper (who has a show on CNN) or her husband. The Spider-Man musical opens in November. I had assumed it wasn’t going to open at all. I love the fact that Io9 has a picture of Spider-Man, Carnage, and Venom in a chorus line, dancing through the streets of New York.

Io9 makes suggestions on what could work as the next comic adaptation series. Their idea of a Kitty Pryde series would actually be pretty good. A series for the original New Mutants or Excalibur would likely be too expensive.

As of 15 minutes ago the temperature was 101. Suddenly, it turned windy, the sky went black—and the temperature has now crashed down to 89 degrees 84 degrees. Still humid, but better than it was.

Anyone that might be wondering about Toby, he’s still fine. No more incidents. However, he has decided to come to us, rather than us going to him for the last morning or two. He was waiting on the front porch, and wanted to play. Once he was done, he went home by jumping back over the fence.
