Next Year In Yuletide. Some people (like me) are already planning what they’ll nominate next year. I’m making a note to nominate the Fred Saberhagen Dracula novels.

In relation to this year’s Yuletide, I’ve just finished signing up—fandoms I’ve offered are: Fright Night (1985), Back to the Future, Pushing Daisies, Ghostbusters, Bram Stoker’s Dracula (1992), Addams Family (1991)—with the fandoms tossed into the bucket section being Last Unicorn (1982), Van Helsing (2004), Mannequin (1987), Soapdish (1991), A Study in Emerald - Neil Gaiman, Lost Skeleton of Cadavra, The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen: 1996, Anno Dracula Series - Kim Newman.

I threw out Cabin in the Woods, since I wasn’t sure how well I’d be able to write for that one. If it turns out that I enjoy the pilot for Mockingbird Lane, then I’ll edit that in if I’m able.

Dad’s Yahoo account was seemingly hacked earlier, and from what I can tell by looking it over with him, it was used to send out a large amount of spam and potential viruses to everyone he knows. The end result of this was a morning fielding several phone calls from relatives who were baffled and concerned by the wording of some of the gibberish, and wanting to know if he was okay. Mentally. Because the spelling was worse than usual.

Fandom Brainstorming For Yuletide 2012. Nominations begin later this month. I’ve been planning my nominations for a few months now. The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen: 1996 will be in one of the three slots, since I’ve already come up with a prompt. If someone else nominates Ghostbusters and Dark Shadows (90’s version) then I won’t need to, and I can go for the original Fright Night. For the final nomination, it depends on which one of these people want to see end up on the list more: The Lost Skeleton of Cadavra, Mr. Boogedy, The Librarian series of movies, Fred Saberhagen’s Dracula novels, Innocent Blood (1992), or The Mercury Men.

For this computer, the mouse I use stopped working, as though I had worn out the wheel through constant scrolling. Which...is how I read my friends list. It was also jittery, and refusing to highlight or messing up and switching the words around. So Dad gave me his mouse, and I gave him mine. On his laptop, mine works perfectly, leaving us both baffled. So now, I’m keeping his smaller one.

I'm not actually promising to *write* any of these, mind you, but it's fun anyway. And who knows if I'll be inspired!

I'm getting a "status: 12002" message when I try to cross-post this particular entry via Dreamwidth--so, like last time with that glitch, I'll just post it in each place and then go over and add a link in both places. I'm not sure which part of the html is causing the error, since there isn't anything in common with the previous occurrance.

Jezebel lists The Best Halloween Specials Ever. Including the Garfield Halloween Special, Halloween Is Grinch Night, Marc Summers’ Magical Mystery Tour, The Worst Witch, that episode of Salute Your Shorts with Zeke The Plumber, Buffy’s Fear Itself, and many others.

In the end, we had a grand total of 9 trick-or-treaters last night, with the final three popping in around 7:30 PM. They forgot to wear costumes. So the only costumes I spotted last night were a little boy that was Satan, and a little girl that was a Crayola crayon.

CNN reports that one of Bram Stoker's writing journals has been unearthed.

This month for Halloween, I have now watched for the first time: Subspecies, Bloodstone: Subspecies 2, Warlock, Halloween, Halloween II, Halloween III: Season of the Witch, Halloween H20: 20 Years Later, Wes Craven’s New Nightmare, The Omen (original), Poltergeist, Silver Bullet, The Lost Boys, Jason Goes To Hell: The Final Friday, The Changeling (1980), Ghost Story (from 1981), House (from 1986), and House II: The Second Story.

I didn’t post about the Zombie Walk. It didn’t take more than 5 minutes for everyone to pass on by. There was a Zombie Chef, two Zombie Ghostbusters, a Zombie Batman and Catwoman, and about 200 others. Including someone’s little Pug puppy, with fake blood on its back. Yesterday, I went to see The Lost Boys—aside from a few technical difficulties (and a grand total of 7 people were there, counting us) that made it a couple minutes late in starting, it went nicely.
