Comcast appears to be having some serious problems. Long stretches of time when it looks like the internet’s down, or having temporary hang-ups. I can’t watch anything on Youtube or Blip, since it never loads—or if it starts to, it will constantly buffer. A call to customer service seems to think it’s on my end, when I seriously doubt that. Their server keeps dying if anyone tries to check e-mail. (Except for a brief window this morning) Earliest they can bother to check around and see if there’s something messing up is Saturday afternoon, around 11 AM-1 PM. Maybe.

To watch the trailer for The Dark Knight Rises, I had to use Download Accelerator Plus, since it kept trying even when the connection dropped out. So I watched a fuzzy quality version of the HD trailer, but at least I was able to see it.

(Yahoo is insane, because it’s been working for me at times, even when Comcast wasn’t, in certain windows of time. So I can keep tagging back in the Genosha logs. Watch the confusion!)

Some sites were saying this was the first time Watson’s been a woman—it isn’t. There were two tv movies. The Return of Sherlock Holmes and Sherlock Holmes Returns: 1994 Baker Street. Halloween Shows.Net remembers Mr. Boogedy. As with yesterday’s Zeke the Plumber, you can view it on their website. Like all the copies I’ve found, this one is missing Michael Eisner’s intro. However, you can see what may be what I recall at the beginning of Bride of Boogedy.

I was reading about a UK show called The Fades. Is it worth watching? I’ve been looking to find another show to watch, since the only things I currently keep track of are Doctor Who (which won’t be back until the Christmas special) and Merlin. Any recommendations for any other shows? I gave Bedlam a shot, but didn’t care for it—ended up mocking it MST3K style with Mom. Tried and didn’t care for American Horror Story.

The trailer for The Woman In Black. Not a fan of Daniel Radcliffe, but it looks nice and creepy. Is the original worth tracking down?

Two clips from Let’s Kill Hitler.

Listen to Roddy McDowell as Peter Vincent and Chris Sarandon as Jerry from Fright Night, singing a duet of Amy, Awake.

Today’s Dimestore Dames focuses on Kitty Pryde. It was actually Kitty that got me interested in comics—I believe my first issue of Uncanny X-Men was the one where she found Lockheed on the Brood homeworld. I was 2, meaning I’ve been both a Kitty Pryde fan as well as an X-Men fan for 28 years.

For Rifftrax Live, at the theater I went to we had a grand total of 6 people—and that’s counting me, and counting Dad. Having a brain fried from attempting to tackle a strange computer issue for over 7 hours (involved a Windows Update gone wrong, and something with Spyware Doctor, seems to be fixed as of yesterday evening--periodic breaks for logging saved my sanity) is not particularly conducive to enjoying either the experience or a birthday as a whole, but it was quite nice.
